This is a standard exercise that has been around for centuries. Just lie down on the back and keep knees facing the ceiling. Raise both hands above the head and as you get up, straighten the legs. Then scooch over to touch the toes and hold for a few seconds. Lie down again and repeat 2 sets of 10-12 each.

For this exercise, you have to lie down on the stomach instead of the back. Then extend both hands in front of you. Now raise both the legs and hands together and go back down. Do this at least 10-12 time and repeat the set.

A killer move for the abs has to be planks. It really works on the core, legs and back muscles along with toning the body. For this, lie down on the stomach and then raise upper body using the support of both arms and keep leg weights on your toes. Hold this position. You can either place weight on bent elbows or keep them straight. Hold for 2o seconds and repeat.

Now for this one, get into the basic plank again, but get your abs toned from the sides too. These twister work on the abs and the obliques together. In the plank position, gently twist your body from the hips and then take it really low on the right side. Then back to plank position and repeat on the left side. Do 10 reps at least.

Sit on the floor with knees bent and back straight, now using your folded elbows, twist as much to the right as you can and do the same move on the left side. Go as fast as you can to lose that extra fat on the tummy. Do 2-3 sets for 30 seconds each.

This is a pose that really works on the core. For this, lie down on the back and then raise your legs and upper body together. Balance weight on the hips, while getting your core to tighten and really burn. Now try to be in motion swinging back and forth to engage the abs more.

For this exercise, you have to take a light dumbbell in both hands. About 1 pound should do. Then lie down on the back and raise both the legs and hands together. This move makes use of the weights and gets the abs to contract faster. Exhale as you go up and inhale as you go down. 2 sets of 10 should do the trick.
